The activity of cooperation carried out by the “Giuseppe Tovini” institution includes:

•  a pedagogical service meant to help the individual to become aware of its own inalienable rights and dues;

• the participation to a project of cooperation performed together with the local peoples, the civil local authorities, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union;

•  a life experience in community with other volunteers and the respect of the local people and places in order to support human development;

•  the awareness of these peoples’ problems and the respect of their cultural and social values;

•  both a basic and specific training which is at the basis of each project;

•  a dose integration among all necessary competences in order to be able to solve every kind of problem;

  The invitation to take part in this volounteer service is open both to young people and adults. Experience and availability, in the field of education and of technical and professional training, are required.

The Institution gives volunteers the possibility to get specialized in these fields through courses and stages.

 People who decide to cooperate become permanent volunteers after a training and after a qualifying examination. They can enter into a contract of international cooperation according to which they can benefit of the following:

• volunteers get a salary which entity depends both from the medium life condition in the entertaining country and from the spirit and purposes of the voluntary service itself;

•  employer’s liability and health insurance and deduction payment for those who cannot benefit of temporary discharge;

•  paid holidays;

•  the allowance of being included again at the end of the service;

•  the possibility for state employees to be on leave during the period of volunteer service; during this period they do not lose their rights in terms of  career advance, salary increase, pension and security treatment. Husband or wife of the volunteer have the same rights;

•  people who choose to undertake this way instead of serving in the army have the right of keeping their job;

•  the possibility of exemption from military service for those who have the obligation of call-up;

•  the aknowledgement of the service carried out in developing countries.
